Timeline of South Gardens at Elephant Park

  • 2013 – 2014

    The former 1970s-era Heygate Estate is demolished to make way for Elephant Park.

  • 2014

    Construction on the 360 homes that comprise South Gardens begins. The plans for South Gardens contains the only townhouses as part of the larger Elephant Park development and also features the largest proportion of three and four-bedroom properties.

  • December 2016

    The first residents move into South Gardens, Elephant Park. Arum House is the first building to open. Baldwin Point (the 16 storey tower building) opens in September 2017.

  • May 2018

    South Gardens wins the RIBA London Award 2018 from the Royal Institute of British Architects, joining 61 other regional winners. It said:

    “There is an architectural and material coherence across the site, an architecture of street facades that are predominantly made from brick, with crisply detailed and carefully proportioned openings.”

  • 2022

    Savills takes over from Mainstay as managing agent on behalf of the landlord, Lendlease.
